AAJA can help further your career. As a student or a professional, we offer access to training, workshops, critiques and more through our chapter and the national office.
High school students from around the country are welcome to apply to our annual journalism camp. AAJA JCamp is a nationally recognized, multicultural program that has been held every summer since 2001. Our chapter has always helped support Florida students to attend this wonderful opportunity.
For more information, visit the JCamp page on AAJA.org .
College students also have several opportunities to engage in our chapter or national events. Our members have mentored college students over the years, partnered with student journalism organization, and even held resume and portfolio critiques at the University of Florida.
Students also have the opportunity to get hands-on experience by working on the student newspaper during each annual convention. Broadcast, radio, web and print journalists from around the country gather each summer to spend a week with professional members to cover the convention. Their work is often highlighted on the AAJA website during that time, which is seen by convention attendees and recruiters. For more information, visit AAJA.
AAJA and its chapters strive to help out its members. Aside from the annual convention, each chapter holds fundraisers, mixers, town hall meetings and workshops to interact with members. AAJA also has several fellowships, mentoring programs and specialized career advancement training such as the Executive Leadership Program.
